QS/1 Adds Portability to Checkout
Spartanburg, SC – September 28, 2012 – QS/1 has released its Remote Checkout System that gives portability to pharmacy checkout.
Utilizing a 7-inch color touchscreen wireless tablet, QS/1’s Remote Checkout allows the flexibility to move around, whether it is in a pharmacy aisle, drive-thru window, or the front door of a customer’s house.
“No longer are you tied to a point-of-sale terminal conducting transactions,” said Tom McLeod, QS/1 Vice President of Administration and Marketing. “The Remote Checkout tablet allows staff to go anywhere and help customers.”
Remote Checkout allows ultimate portability for your point-of-sale system, especially if you add your own cellular communications service for connectivity. The device will allow you to process credit and FSA cards, capture signatures for PSE, HIPAA, and credit cards, scan barcodes and print receipts, using an optional portable printer.
“If you use cellular service on the device, you can use Remote Checkout anywhere you have a signal,” McLeod added.
Hospitals are also using QS/1’s Remote Checkout. It allows patients to sign for prescriptions in their room before being discharged. This assures the patient gets the prescription filled, and drives business to the hospital pharmacy.
The rugged design of Remote Checkout makes it durable, yet it weighs less than two-and-a-half pounds. Built into the device are two USB ports, a three-track magstripe card reader, barcode scanner, and a battery with six hours of continuous use.
