Spartanburg, SC – March 14, 2011 – QS/1 has enhanced the Workflow module in its NRx Pharmacy Management System with a Will Call feature that helps pharmacies store, and then locate, filled prescriptions.

“Will Call provides an organized approach to managing prescriptions,” according to QS/1 Market Analyst John Frady. “By integrating into Workflow, pharmacies are better able to assign prescriptions to locations and then find them later when the patient comes to pick them up.”

The Will Call feature is flexible, allowing a pharmacy to create and assign locations and set a capacity for each location, including designating a refrigerator. Will Call can even “auto assign” the location for the prescription, if desired. If several prescriptions are batched together, the intelligent system can store them in a location that has enough room to accommodate all of the prescriptions in the batch.

Frady adds, “Prescriptions can be easily assigned to locations simply by scanning a barcode. The Prescription Status function has also been improved to display both the location of the prescription as well as the price. However, the Return to Stock option might be the most popular feature of all.”

Return to Stock, when pressed, cancels all IVR call outs, reverses all claims associated with the transaction and then voids the transaction. Inventory is adjusted, Workflow and Tickler records are completed, and the prescription is removed from the batch. Credits are also posted to Accounts Receivable if applicable, all with a single mouse click.

Will Call is available in NRx with Workflow enabled and the addition of Service Pack 19.1.6.
