NRx Add-on Module: Nursing Home

As our population grows and continues to age, pharmacies need specific tools to help them serve the complex medication and reporting requirements of nearby nursing homes and assisted-living facilities. QS/1's NRx Nursing Home Module provides easy-to-use tools tailored specifically to help retail pharmacies increase productivity, efficiency and profitability while supporting the unique needs of these long term care environments.

Module Features

Order Entry and Processing

QS/1's NRx Nursing Home Module delivers flexible order processing with demand fill and cycle fill options. Cycle fill automates the processing of routine medications and allows pharmacies to batch orders by facility, helping balance pharmacy workflow.

Easy to Learn and Use

QS/1's Nursing Home Module is built directly into NRx without interfaces. This allows users to take advantage of the system's windows-based look and feel, helping new or fill-in employees quickly get up to speed. Easy to recognize toolbar icons and dropdown menus speed up prescription workflow and eliminate the need to memorize function key operations. Wizards guide users step-by-step through infrequently used processes.

Medication Administration Record

Training and Support

QS/1 offers interactive training to guide you through the learning process. Additional training can be scheduled to meet your needs. Service specialists provide product support from our toll-free service center.

Pharmacy Efficiency and Flexibility

Physician Order Form

Tracking, Reporting and Documentation

Print medication administration records (MARs), physician order forms (POFs) and psychotropic drug use forms by patient and facility. Delivery sheets can be printed to help facility staff reconcile the receipt of medications from the pharmacy. The Nursing Home Module can also generate the necessary reports to document these activities, reducing time consuming clerical work.

Facility Reports

Patient Safety and Care

Save pertinent information like facility name, wing and room number, medical record number, admit date and level of care. Users can also store patient information by facility, diagnosis, diet, exercise, lab orders, physical therapy orders and treatment orders.

Packaging

Easily interface with a host of productivity-enhancing tools including automated dispensing, counting and packaging systems using industry standard HL7 interfaces.

Label Printing

Batch print labels and other medication documentation for greater efficiency. Thermal printers provide pharmacies with a speedy, affordable and quiet labeling solution that supports workflow and are small enough to add to every workstation without sacrificing counter space. Thermal printers also support high quality printing of composite graphics and two-dimensional bar codes for fast and reliable scanning.
