Increase Profits

Today’s economy is a challenge to say the least, and QS/1 is meeting those challenges by partnering with healthcare vendors to offer you rebate programs and reconciliation services.

There are several rebate programs available to QS/1 Customers including: IMS, FamilyCare^®, LDM, Pharmacy First, Roche and Wolters Kluwer. These companies offer monetary reimbursements in exchange for your data. With your consent, the information sent to PowerLine^® is passed on to one or more of these vendors. Your reimbursement comes to you as a check, direct deposit or PowerLine credit, depending on the rebate program.

QS/1 also works with vendors to offer reconciliation services to customers, which is a great way to manage what has or has not been paid to your pharmacy. The services look at unpaid and under-paid prescriptions and provide reports and assist with recouping money owed to you. These vendors also provide 835 files that can be loaded directly into the QS/1 pharmacy software. You can then run transactionlevel reports to review payment information or review this information directly on the Transaction Record. This is an efficient way to ensure you are bringing in all of the money owed to you by third parties.

Reduce Errors in the Pharmacy

QS/1’s Pre- and Post-Edits prescription processing service reduces third-party rejections and maximizes reimbursements. Pre- and Post-Edits evaluate prescription claims for omissions, errors and compliance with industry standards and metrics. If errors are found during the editing process, claims are immediately routed back to the sender with an indication of what data should be re-evaluated. This prevents the pharmacy from submitting a claim the insurance provider would reject due to missing or inaccurate information, and decreases the possibility of paying multiple submission charges on a single prescription. Upon enrollment in Pre- and Post-Edits, you have access to web-based reports via iManager that illustrate where prescription edits are providing the greatest profit for the pharmacy. The reports can be downloaded in spreadsheet format for further analysis. Recently, QS/1 added two new options to the Pre- and Post-Edits that indicate if a third party has paid at or below $0.00 to ensure correct reimbursement to the pharmacy.

QS/1 can also reduce the risk of errors and maximize efficiency in the pharmacy through e-Prescribing. It is no longer necessary to spend time on the phone waiting for clarification of an illegible prescription. e-Prescribing also allows for enhanced communication between the pharmacy and prescriber because prescription refill information can be passed back and forth. Now is the perfect time to enroll in e-Prescribing through Emdeon and Surescripts. There are many exciting enhancements coming soon to the industry, such as the allowance of electronic prescribing of controlled substances (EPCS) and SCRIPT 10.6, which offers more information to long term care facilities.
