Fall 2020 | 18 Health-Minder Michael Dodd, Pharm.D., R.Ph., CPM, Associate Director of Clinical and Pharmacy Regulatory Affairs If you aren’t currently using Health-Minder within your NRx or PrimeCare Pharmacy Management System, then you are missing out on one of the most useful tools to optimize your pharmacy’s efficiency and effectiveness. Health-Minder is a feature that lists all patients and prescriptions that are due for a refill. In addition to a reporting function, it also offers functionality to perform various common tasks. Common Ways to Use Health- Minder • Adherence monitoring: Create a report of nonadherent patients who need to be contacted to help ensure they follow their medication regimens. • Refill management: Use the Select Option “Date Refill Due” to select prescriptions that are due to be filled within a specific date range. This is especially useful if you’re using Health- Minder to manage an auto-refill program. • Tickler as a work queue: Send prescriptions to the Tickler file to use as the queue to process prescriptions as desired, which is especially useful for managing an auto-refill program and med sync patients. • InstantFill ® for automatic Rx fill: Send selected prescriptions to InstantFill to automatically process prescriptions with limited manual labor. • Patient contact: Contact patients by phone, text, or email using the IVR Callout function. This is beneficial for batch sending refill reminders or pick-up reminders to selected patients. • RxRenewal requests: View prescriptions that are out of refills, so you can see all prescriptions that are due for a refill but have zero refills remaining – allowing you to then send RxRenewal requests to the prescriber.
