Insight - Fall 2020

Fall 2020 | 20 340B Update Jon Bell, Product Manager The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way everyone goes about their daily routines. Whether it’s going out for dinner or the way our children attend school, all aspects of life have been altered over the last eight months. As we figure out how to move forward with our everyday lives, pharmacies have also had to adjust to our new environment. This is especially true for 340B pharmacies and the way they interact with patients. For a lot of 340B pharmacies, having a drive-thru or delivery service has not been a part of their normal business process. In order to provide patients the same level of service during this pandemic, 340B pharmacies have added new services based on patient and safety concerns, and QS/1 has several products to assist with current pharmacy demands. Remote Checkout Remote Checkout allows you to run a full Point-of-Sale (POS) client on a Dell ® tablet. The feature requires a network connection. The tablet can be connected to your network locally, or if you have a cellular connection, that can be used, too. Remote Checkout allows you to perform the full checkout process from your curbside. Pharmacy staff can charge to an account and accept credit cards or any other payment method used with your normal POS. Remote Checkout can also capture signatures and counseling information in real time and update your pharmacy management system. It does require specific hardware related to our application. Please email POSSupport@redsailtechnologies. com for assistance. QS/1 DeliveryRx DeliveryRx provides an offline delivery app that is available on iOS on the iPad ® , iPad Mini ® , and iPad Pro ® . To use the app, you must have NRx and POS. DeliveryRx will allow you to download prescriptions and over-the-counter items to the iPad while inside your pharmacy. Once you leave the pharmacy, the application will maintain those items and ready them for delivery to the patient. It can also be used for curbside or home deliveries when needed. DeliveryRx does not allow credit card swipe native to the application but does accept multiple payment types at checkout. Once you return to the pharmacy and connect to the pharmacy network, checkout will be complete. Upload information collected during delivery, which includes payment type, signatures, and counseling details. DeliveryRx is available for free download in the Apple ® app store. If you are interested in this service, please email POSSupport@redsailtechnologies. com for assistance. Sliding Scale Pricing NRx also has a new Sliding Scale Pricing option that was released in Service Pack 33. Sliding Scale Pricing will allow you to set up a price calculation specifically for your 340B patients. The pricing will be used for patients who meet a certain level of 340B participation to reduce their copay when needed. If the sliding scale copay is calculated and is less than the adjudicated copay amount, the sliding scale copay will be used instead. There are a few steps that are required to set up this new feature. Please be on the lookout for the Service Pack 33 webinar for more information. While navigating this unprecedented time, QS/1 will continue to support you and provide features that will help you remain flexible in order to meet your patients’ needs. 340B for Today’s World
