INSIGHT - Summer 2020

Summer 2020 | 19 allenges Associated There have also been alerts from Prime Therapeutics ® and Express Scripts ® that state they will resume audits in June; however, onsite audits will continue to be virtual until further notice. Please see the notes below for things to consider in case of an onsite audit notice. PAAS Notes y Pharmacies are not able to deny participation in an audit. y Pharmacies should contact the auditor to request that any onsite audits be converted into a remote/desk audit whenever possible to reduce exposure risks. y Members are encouraged to notify PAAS National at 608.873.1342 or info@ paasnational.com , if they run into problems. PAAS can help them get in touch with audit managers, when appropriate. y If onsite audits cannot be avoided: − Request an unmasked list in advance, so pharmacy staff can pull documentation before audit day. − Require auditor to report any symptoms and take temperature prior to entering your pharmacy. − Refuse entry based on evidence of illness and request alternate accommodations. − Require auditor to wear a face mask at all times (based on CDC recommendations). − Designate an isolated workspace where a pharmacy employee can assist the auditor in efficient document retrieval to expedite the audit process. − Do not allow auditor to move about the pharmacy and offer to present any necessary materials to complete the audit (e.g., fridge temp log and sample of stock inventory).
